We want to help people live and explore the world without the stress of finding a home.
Why We Founded Sumii
Sumii was founded by JX and Daniel. They faced great difficulty finding nicely furnished apartments in the best locations when they wanted to stay in Tokyo.
Existing serviced apartment options were expensive and had very cumbersome screening processes. In addition, some even charged very high security deposits even for a one month stay.
Short term stay operators had apartments that were very small and not adequately furnished. They were often located far from the best neighbourhoods.
With this experience in mind, JX and Daniel aimed to address the expectations and aspirations they saw in the market and thus Sumii was born.
JX has a background in real estate development and investment in Singapore and London whilst Daniel has a background in digital marketing and e-commerce. With their combined expertise, they hope to be able to help people easily start their life in new cities by finding them their home away from home.
